Research FT-IR spectrophotometer, model Nicolet Nexus 470 FT-IR (Thermo Fisher Scientific), based on a Vectra-Piezo™ Michelson interferometer with full digital control. The instrument allows FT-IR measurements in continuous-scan and step-scan modes, being suitable for static, kinetic applications and time- or phase-resolved experiments. The spectral range covered is extendable, depending on the configuration, from far-IR to near-UV (approx. 27,000 – 15 cm⁻¹), using dedicated sources, beam splitters and detectors. The spectral resolution is software selectable, up to 0.125 cm⁻¹, with an effective resolution better than 0.09 cm⁻¹ for gas-phase measurements. The system ensures high mechanical and optical stability, with mirror position accuracy of ±0.2 nm, guaranteeing high signal-to-noise ratio and excellent reproducibility. The instrument is compatible with a wide range of detectors (TGS/DLaTGS, MCT, InSb, bolometer) and experimental accessories (ATR, transmission, reflection, PAS, polarization), being controlled by dedicated OMNIC™ software, which allows automatic acquisition, advanced spectral processing and the implementation of rapid-scan, step-scan and advanced FT-IR spectroscopy experiments.
