Due to its superior resolution, it provides accurate information on the spectral solar irradiance and the effect of atmospheric constituents on solar radiation.
It is useful in the study of radiative transfer in the atmosphere, being possible studies of various attenuators of solar radiation, such as aerosols, clouds, water vapor.
