This CoE is focused on the IEEE 1451 standard. Devices, or transducer nodes, with energy restrictions mostly because battery or an energy harvesting mechanism powers the device receive from this CoE special attention.
The CoE can offer an experimental setup, observing different configurations, with the required characteristics to integrate the device under test and evaluate its behaviour.
The CoE is organized inside the Instrumentation and Measurement Laboratory (IML). The members of this laboratory are also active members of the IEEE-IES Standardization Committee. This laboratory is contributing to the definition of the IEEE 1451 family of standards, especially promoting IEEEP1451.002 working group activities.
