CICS-UBI (Health Sciences Research Center) offers two fully equipped cell culture facilities. Primary cell cultures and cell lines, or tissues, from human and non-human origin are isolated, maintained and manipulated in separate cell culture rooms. Facilities offer six biosafety level 2 laminar flow cabinets (Nuaire), six incubators (Nuaire), four microscopes (Olympus), refrigerators, water baths, centrifuges and other support equipment. A laboratory technician is dedicated to the maintenance and management of these rooms, securing a readily available and constant stock of sterilized materials and solutions. Each cell culture facility is supervised by two integrated members of CICS-UBI that offer training for external and/or inexperienced users.
