Description of equipment
The equipment available at CICS-UBI is a Jasco J-815 CD spectropolarimeter (Jasco,Easton, MD, USA) equipped with a Peltier-type temperature controller (model CDF-426S/15). The main features include: Light source: 150 W Xe arc lamp; Wavelength range: 163-900 nm; Standard modes: circular dichroism & UV/VIS absorbance; Peltier cuvette holder for temperature-controlled measurements (thermal denaturation and cold effects). The facility serves a variety of research projects involving biomolecules (Proteins, DNA, RNA, etc.) structure, biomolecule-ligand interactions, and pharmaceutical formulation.
